Summer/Spring Things To Do

This is the time when the Green Mountain state really shines, and there is a list of activities for everyone. Every color green can be seen on the landscape.

-Golf – There are several nearby golf courses and we are happy to assist you with tee times. Equinox, Stratton, or Lake St. Catherine Country Club.

-Tennis – Equinox Tennis Center offers court time and instruction. Our guests have access to play on the courts at Barrows House.

-Hiking – Many hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail, and Mount Equinox are nearby. Check out Vermont Hiking Guide! Just a short drive from the Inn is Merck Forest with over 2,900 acres of woodlands, meadows, ponds and streams.

-Cheese Tours – Enjoy a day on the farm learning learning the process of cheese making with Consider Bardwell!

-Biking – There are many back roads and trails in the area. Vermont Mountain Biking & Cycling Guide is a good resource for trails. Battenkill Bicycle is great for rentals and gear.

-Fishing – There are fishing opportunities…ponds, lakes, streams. Fly-fishing is nearby on the Battenkill or Mettawee Rivers. Get updates and licenses at Take Me Fishing. The best part, Manchester is home to the world headquarters of the renowned Orvis with teaching ponds and the American Museum of Fly-Fishing. -Swimming is available for our Inn guests in our salt water pool at Barrows House. There is also a nearby marble quarry, Stratton Pond, Emerald Lake State Park and Lake St. Catherine State Park.Both state parks also offer canoe and kayak rentals.

-Fun for Kids & the Family – Enjoy a fun day at Otter Creek Fun Center or Bromley Thrill Zone – Alpine slide, mini golf, rides for all ages & many other thrills.

-Horseback Riding – For seasoned riders or beginners alike at Chipman Stables and The Mountain Top Inn & Resort
